What we are up to!
Whips, Sticks, Bite Bars and Scratch Pants, cute Decoy…..it was a great weekend ![]()

More photos to follow (prob not until Wednesday though). Jingo had a blast…… blowing me off!!! I got some great photos of Mr. Charlie Brown and Butch with Slick.

Little Coo Coo has really turned it up a notch or two in her training as of lately. From seeing other dogs sired by Agir, I think he produces dogs that mature slowly. I was worried for awhile that she was going to be House Beast II, but she has proven me wrong over the last couple of weeks. I hope she continues with this forward progress.
So after a little time off to mature, I brushed the dust off her (literally) and took her tracking. When she saw the start flag she charged at it and appeared to remember what it was all about. For the first several paces she was hectic and all over the place, so I held my ground and wouldn’t let her advance unless she was on the track. She pulled a bit, gave up, downed on the track, and looked back at me for guidance. GREAT!!! So I came up and gave her the command to restart the track…. and she stared at me blankly. I repeated the command and tossed a bit of food on the track to entice her forward. No such luck. Crud, now what?!?! I didn’t want to get in a fight with her about it, since this was her first time back in awhile. I decided to try a little more forceful coax, and it worked. I stood over top her, gave the command, and guided her forward. Bingo!!! off she went and did a perfect track and nailed all the corners. I think she needs some reps with tracking and things should progress nicely.
Obedience: She did great with her platz, but today she acted as if she never heard the command sit before. So we focused on some remedial stuff.
Protection: We started with taking her on a walk and doing some civil stuff in the tree line. She responded very well. She stood her ground, lots of strong barking, and appeared confident. We put her up and brought her back a little later and put her on the sleeve for the second time ever. I was very happy that she bit full, hard, and showed a good fighting spirit while on the field.

Last weekend Snips earned her ATT, Jingo his STT, and Cosmo her WAC and ATT!!! I am so proud of my crew. Photos of the event:

I think I need to get back on that train…
Got to meet a very nice Stallion along with Coudai. Coudai met the stallion in his stall and sniffed him nose to nose!!! She was like “Whoo…. WTF!?!? I think this is the biggest dog EVA!!!” She didn’t dare bark at him and moved with great caution. I can’t say I blame her, ’cause I was nervous for her! I don’t know what I have done if my little Coo Coo was hoofed to death
We drove down some very pretty country roads, with the leaves turning all sorts of beautiful shades of red and yellow. Arrived at training just in time to work Coudai in protection. I must say, this girl has turned a real corner for me. I have been deliberating on what to make of her and if she has the fire I want to see. Butch and I agreed awhile ago to put her up and not work her. We wanted to let her grow up a bit because she wasn’t showing the drive I was looking for. She has a solid temperament, but I wanted to see her more devoted to work. Well all I can say is, this little bitch came out fighting today! I don’t know what got into her, but she dragged me onto the field barking up a storm, looking for the decoy. She really caught me off guard. She was even doing some of Cosmo’s signature flips trying to bite Butch. I started laughing cause I honestly didn’t know who this dog was at the end of my leash. I think she must have read my “for sale” page and decided it was time to get serious!! or maybe it was the little old man who rang his bike bell at her…and it some how brought all her anger to the surface
Afterwards had dinner with Lyn and talked about dogs and Doberman people. Always a great dinner conversation!! She got to listen to me vent about the UDC and some of BS from this weekends show. I would love to go into more detail, but unfortunately I can’t because I plan to file a formal complaint. Errr… I need a new hobby because this one is killing me! On a positive note Snips, Jingo, Cosmo, and Ziris all passed the TTs with flying colors. I will post photos when Mike returns.
