Back to the Cardiologist for Snips
Say a prayer for Snipsie
I thought she was not acting her normal perky self this weekend and sure enough she started that dreaded cough last night. It amazes me how quickly this cardio comes on.
It started out as a couple of coughs, but by 3 a.m. it was non-stop. Since the coughing is more than likely due to pulmonary edema, I decided to go ahead and give her another dose of her lasix to get her through the night. I also got a big pillow and propped it under her front half to keep her more upright. I know this works in people… at least they prefer sleeping in recliners versus laying flat. The combination seemed to work and I only heard a couple of coughs the rest of the night.
Now I’m waiting to call the Cardiologist at U-PENN.

The Kargaard Clan is thinking very good Snips thoughts… you know I think she is the greatest girl and Charlie seconds that thought. Zelda thinks she is special too… in a girl vs girl sorta way.
We will be waiting to hear how she is and hope to see you on Saturday. The CGC begins at 10am and the WAE will begin around noon… maybe even some dogs will get worked in late afternoon!

Positive thoughts and prayers have been sent out for you and Snips. I understand how hard it is. I lost my first dog to cardio and now my 10 year old Schnauzer is still really healthy but it’s so hard to watch her slowing down in some areas. Seems like yesterday she fit in the palm of my hand…
Thanks so much for keeping this blog. I’m hoping my Doberman dream can become a reality soon and until then I keep up with the Schutzhund training through you! I always look forward to seeing new posts/pictures. Hoping to hear positive news about Snips!
